Welcome Board Member Rob Johnson

We are delighted to welcome Robert M. Johnson, Jr. to the APDM Board! A former public defender in Baltimore, Rob brings decades of experience representing clients in criminal defense, juvenile court, and post-conviction proceedings. As the principal of his own law office, he has continued to advocate for justice across a wide range of civil and criminal matters while mentoring new attorneys and serving his community through multiple board and leadership roles.

Rob’s career reflects a deep dedication to fairness, equity, and the belief that every person deserves a strong defense. His perspective as both a frontline practitioner and a leader in the legal community gives him unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing public defenders today. Beyond his professional expertise, Rob has consistently invested in the next generation of lawyers, helping to guide and inspire young attorneys who are entering the field of public defense.

His deep understanding of the public defense system, commitment to supporting marginalized communities, and extensive experience in both litigation and mentorship make him a tremendous asset to APDM as we advance our mission. We are excited to have his leadership and vision on our Board and look forward to the impact he will bring.
