At APDM we recognize the importance of investing in the growth and development of OPD employees, not only for their personal and professional fulfillment but also as it contributes to the overall success of OPD. That's why we are thrilled to introduce our latest initiative – the Career Development Fund.
While OPD's in-house Training Division provides attorneys and staff with a host of training opportunities, OPD has limited funds to send employees to important specialized training opportunities and professional development conferences. Through the Career Development Fund, eligible employees will receive stipends to attend training programs, workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities relevant to their roles and career aspirations.
On an annual basis, APDM will provide funding to OPD employees to offset tuition expenses for relevant training and professional development programs. The funds for the scholarships come from revenue received from OPD’s annual conference as well as individual donations made to APDM and earmarked for the Career Development Fund.
For our inaugural year, 2024, we are thrilled to be able to provide financial assistance to 14 OPD employees (attorneys, professional staff, social workers, and support staff) from offices across Maryland to attend a host of important training opportunities.
